Challenge
In many buildings, outdated, non-connected meters are hindering digitalisation and the transition to smart buildings with all their benefits. In the case of water and electricity meters in particular, existing analogue devices without an internet connection are often still in use. Water and electricity costs are among the most important metrics that can be used to assess the performance of a building.
Local conditions also often prevent operators from benefiting from digital building management. This is because meters are often installed in locations with poor internet reception and therefore (supposedly) cannot be integrated into intelligent building management systems.
Solution approach
With the replacement value input feature, non-connected meters can also be integrated into Eliona. Meter readings can be entered manually via the user-friendly app - both on site via the app and afterwards via tablet and desktop computer. Eliona automatically recognises implausible values and warns users. This allows meter reading errors to be quickly recognised and rectified.
Added value
Data on electricity, water and the like is indispensable for assessing the performance of a building and making decisions. The availability of accurate, up-to-date and complete data supports more efficient resource management and strategic decision-making.
Eliona makes it possible to record up-to-date building data even in challenging environments, creating a single point of truth, even with analogue devices. High initial investments for the procurement and replacement of connected meters are no longer necessary, as the existing meter infrastructure can be retained.
